Valet trash is a doorstep pickup service for apartment and multifamily communities. Residents set out bagged trash during a scheduled window, and a service team collects it and takes it to the property's compactor or dumpsters. Residents don't have to carry trash across the property, and the property gets a consistent, scheduled routine for household trash.
How a Typical Valet Trash Night Works
On a pickup night, residents place their bagged trash (in an approved container, if the property provides one) outside their door during the pickup window. The team then walks the property, collects bags from each participating doorstep, and brings everything to the compactor or dumpsters.
At My Valet Life, the service is built in four steps:
- Walkthrough. We visit your property, review the layout and compactor or dumpster setup, and build a pickup plan.
- Resident setup. Residents get clear guidelines for bagging and setting out trash during the pickup window.
- Nightly pickup. Our team walks the property and collects bags from each doorstep on the agreed schedule.
- Communication. We flag issues like overfilled or improperly set-out bags so management can follow up.
Which Nights Does Pickup Happen?
Schedules are set with each property. Many communities choose five nights a week, Sunday through Thursday, but the schedule can be tailored to your community's needs.
What Residents Need to Do
Residents have three simple responsibilities:
- Bag trash securely.
- Use an approved container if the property provides one.
- Set trash out during the pickup window.
Clear, early communication makes a big difference. Tip: share the guidelines at move-in and again in your resident newsletter or portal so everyone knows the routine.
Is Recycling Included?
It can be. With My Valet Life, recycling pickup can be included with your service. Recyclables are collected at the door and taken to your property's recycling containers to keep streams separate.
What About Bulky Items and Move-Outs?
Standard valet trash covers bagged household trash. For larger items like boxes, small furniture and move-out debris, My Valet Life offers an optional bulk item add-on, priced as needed.
How Is Valet Trash Priced?
Pricing depends on the number of units, building layout and pickup frequency. A garden-style community spread across many buildings is a different job from a single mid-rise, which is why we start with a walkthrough and a proposal built for your property.
Can Residents Sign Up on Their Own?
